    Protect Life U-M Constitution

    Preamble

Protect Life U-M is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, and non-profit organization committed to promoting and defending the dignity and protection of all human life, from the moment of conception until natural death. We endeavor to fulfill this mission by providing educational resources about the issues of abortion, unplanned pregnancy, adoption, euthanasia, infanticide, embryonic stem cell research, and the death penalty. We will interact with other students through outreach and dialogue in order to promote a culture of life on our campus.

    Article I: Name

    Section 1:

The name of this organization shall be Protect Life at the University of Michigan, herein referred to as Protect Life U-M.

    Article II: Purpose

    Section 1:

As an organization committed to promoting the dignity and protection of all human life, from the moment of conception until natural death, the purpose of Protect Life U-M is to engage with students and the general public regarding pro-life issues, provide support for pregnant and parenting students (including: an academic scholarship for a parenting student funded by our donors), as well as to provide pro-life students on campus with opportunities to socialize in a like-minded community. The pro-life issues that we are concerned with include abortion, unplanned pregnancy, adoption, euthanasia, infanticide, embryonic stem cell research, and the death penalty (“Pro-Life Issues”). This purpose will be accomplished primarily by:

    1. Setting up booths to dialogue with students and community members, providing resources to help all involved learn about pro-life apologetics.
    2. Developing and maintaining educational programs on Pro-Life Issues.
    3. Inviting knowledgeable individuals to participate in community forums, academic settings, and media on Pro-Life Issues.
    4. Providing information about Pro-Life Issues and resources to the general public, particularly for women faced with unplanned pregnancies, concerning support systems and services available to provide assistance to them.
    5. Providing community for students through social opportunities and pro-life events.

    Article III: Affiliations

Protect Life U-M understands and fully adheres to the policies, rules, and regulations for student clubs and organizations as set forth by the University of Michigan.
